We with pleasure are engaged in creative work with a leather. Carving and tooling on a leather - our family specialisation. We try to create the reliable and powerful products capable to serve many years in an active mode. We do not like modern "plastic, disposable" things, and our workshop - a challenge to the modern way of manufacture. We like it! Enjoy with us such creativity!
We all life were engaged in leather creativity, having family traditions, and now we are engaged in it professionally.
Helga Schwanzchen - the German designer who has opened in 1984 in Kiel, Germany a workshop on manufacture of leather products with a sharp and stamping on a leather. In general, Europe loves this unique handmade production, and in 1984-86 she managed to establish permanent sales in more than 30 stores in Germany, selling expensive leather goods. However, Helga's task then and now is not to increase sales, but to create her own sketches and implement complex works. At the same time, the overall approach to the design of product styles remains the same: products that are simple in shape, with a minimum of fittings, are strong, solid and understandable. She reasonably believes that the fittings fail much earlier than a solid leather product undergoes critical wear and tear. Therefore, only a minimum of metal parts is used, without which it is impossible to do without. For this reason, Helga never uses zip, mechanical buttons, velcro and similar short-lived fasteners in her works. And screwed connections, which can be tightened or replaced in due course, eternal magnetic buttons, simple solid brass parts - it is her choice. It is justifiably critical of leather stitching, knowing that even good threads break or tear much sooner than a properly glued thick, powerful leather, the more tightened screws can withstand. While the thread seam destroys and weakens the leather at the very point of the seam. It is against jewellery decoration. And this is also typical for traditional Germans.
I am Helga's niece, a manager and a production worker with 30 years of experience. We are interested in working with leather, the creativity associated with it, the realization that we are among the best who work with hand-cutting and embossing on the leather.
